    storiesofthesahabah:

    So, you’re drowning with sins.

You’re thinking that you are the worst person in this world - that you do not have value nor do you have any bit sense of respect left towards yourself.

Yet look at how Allah covers you with His guidance and Mercy.

Do you think that this guilt and remorse you feel right now came out of the blue? Have you not thought for a second that this is Allah reminding you of Him? Subhan’Allah.

Who amongst us does not drown with sins? Who amongst us does not sin? But I want to remind you that indeed you have Allah, the One who responds to those who call upon Him.

    _____

If you, amongst millions of others, feel this way then I want to remind you of about the significance of this beautiful day, the day of Arafah.

Once a Jewish man came to Umar Ibn Al-Khattab Radiyallahu Anhu asking:

“O Leader of the Believers! There is a verse in your Book, which is read by all of you (Muslims), and had it been revealed to us, we would have taken that day (on which it was revealed) as a day of celebration.”

Umar Radiyallahu Anhu asked, “Which is that verse?”

The Jew replied: “This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion.”

Umar replied, “By Allah! I know when and where this verse was revealed to Allah’s Messenger. It was the evening on the Day of Arafah on a Friday.”

You might be wondering what’s with the Day of Arafah, here’s a little list:

The Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam said:

    • “There is no day on which Allaah frees people from the Fire more so than on the day of Arafah. He comes close to those (people standing on Arafah), and then He reveals before His Angels saying, ‘What are these people seeking.” [1]

    • “The promised day is the Day of Resurrection, the witnessed day is the Day of ‘Arafaah, and the witnessing day is Friday.” [2]

    • The best of supplications are those on the Day of Arafah. [3]

    • The day on which Allah perfected the religion (Islam) and completed His favor. [4]

    • “It [fasting on this day] expiates the sins of the past year and the coming year.” [5]

    ______

Allahu’akbar! How beautiful is this day?

My dear brother and sister in Islam there is a reason why Allah chose you to be amongst those people who would be able to stand in prayer, recite His remembrance, observe the fast, read the Qur'an and perform good deeds today.

So rise amongst those who seek to purify their souls today, emerge amongst those who flee to their Lord, and be amongst those who hasten and yearn for the forgiveness of their Lord.

You may have been so sinful the whole of your life but today is the day of Arafah, fast so your sins may be expiated, ask so your prayers may be answered, repent so Allah may accept your repentance and forgive your sins.

Sometimes, we don’t get to realize the great opportunities that Allah places us in, don’t fail to recognize that today.

Make this day count. Cleanse your soul with repentance and heal your heart with asking forgiveness from Allah.

It’s never too late to repent.

Believe me, it never is. As long as you still have a beating heart, it means Allah is waiting for you.

So call upon Him the most today.
    ______

May Allah forgive us and accept our good deeds. Amin

You know I can’t smile without you
    I can’t smile without you
    I can’t laugh and I can’t sing
I’m finding it hard to do anything
You see I feel sad when you’re sad
I feel glad when you’re glad
If you only knew what I’m going through
I just can’t smile without you

You came along just like a song
    And brighten my day
Who would of believed that you were part of a dream
Now it all seems light years away

And now you know I can’t smile without you
    I can’t smile without you
    I can’t laugh and I can’t sing
I’m finding it hard to do anything
You see I feel sad when your sad
I feel glad when you’re glad
If you only knew what I’m going through
    I just can’t smile

Now some people say happiness takes so very long to find
Well, I’m finding it hard leaving your love behind me

And you see I can’t smile without you
    I can’t smile without you
    I can’t laugh and I can’t sing
I’m finding it hard to do anything
You see I feel glad when you’re glad

I feel sad when you’re sad. I feel glad when you’re glad

    storiesofthesahabah:

    Are you sinless?

Don’t you have a single trace of flaw in your life? Have you not done something you knew had displease Allah?

I will tell you something, YOU ARE NOT PERFECT!

You sin and you do things that you know have displeased Allah yet you have the will to take and spend so much time connecting the dots just to find fault on someone else’s life not even thinking that you yourself have flaws that need repentance!

Are you so perfect? Do you have a medal or badge where it gives you the right to go over other people’s lives and say this and that about them and judge them even when all you have collected were just a pile of hearsay?
    _____

I am always fascinated at the amount of time spent by someone who says he or she is a believer of Islam but does all possible connections just to bring down and talk ill of his/her brother or sister in faith.

Are the sins we have inculcated not enough for us to think for a moment that “hey I can’t do this, I have my sins as well.” or that “I know I have my own sins, how would I feel if someone would go and spread and tell people about my sins as well?”.

We do not fear nor do we think twice of hurting our fellow believer these days, we just want to go and spread rumours not thinking how such rumours can impact people.

Everyone is going onto a struggle that we do not know of, yet they are still striving to be better Muslims. Why can we not do the same?

Let me remind you about this part when the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam was telling the people about his Isra wal Miraj.

    Anas ibn Malik  Radiyallahu Anhu narrated that;

The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam said:

“When my Lord took me up into heaven, I passed by some people who had nails of copper with which they were scratching their faces and chests.

I said: ‘Who are these, O Jibreel?’

He said: ‘These are the ones who used to eat the flesh of the people and impugn their honour.’”
    _____

O slaves of Allah, As Salaam! Remember that as a believer of Islam and a Muslim, one must guard his tongue and avoid things that have been forbidden.

Know that gheebah [backbiting], buhtan [slander] and nameemah [malicious gossip] are things that are amongst those that have been forbidden!

If you are to spend hours on connecting the dots of someone’s life, then do so for your own! Spend hours practicising Al-Muhasabah [self-inventory] so you may know where to place yourself, so you may improve yourself!

You are not perfect, you are a sinful slave of Allah and know everyone of us  are sinners, but the best of sinners are those who repent often! So repent as much and be sincere in your repentance.

You will die alone, you will be placed in your grave alone! Only your deeds will be with you to help you, so make sure your deeds will be done in sincerity and solely for Allah!

O slave of Allah, Al Kareem! Do not let your bag of deeds be of those weary and weak or be taken away from you on the day of Reckoning, refrain from talking ill of your brother in faith or else your good deeds will be taken away from you while the bad deeds of those you speak ill of in this world will be burdened by you!

    Speak good or remain silent!

Let this be a reminder for the mindful!
    _____

May we all learn to be careful of what we say and remain silent if our words would just cause hatred and chaos amongst our brothers and sisters in faith.

    Amin.

    Zohayma
